Opportunity

Location and work arrangements

• The role is based in Birmingham, in the Central Region.
• The project includes onsite and office-based work; flexible arrangements may be discussed in line with project requirements.

Planning and programme management

• Develop, maintain and manage detailed MEP project programmes using Primavera P6.
• Integrate MEP work into wider construction and delivery programmes, establish baselines and track milestones.
• Develop commissioning, testing and handover schedules with delivery teams.
• Analyse programme performance, risks, opportunities and mitigation; conduct critical path and impact analysis.
• Support short- and long-term planning strategies.

Reporting and stakeholder coordination

• Produce programme updates, dashboards and progress reports for project leaders.
• Monitor earned value, productivity and programme metrics; provide schedule risk and recovery recommendations.
• Support accurate forecasting and assess programme impacts arising from design or construction changes.
• Coordinate planning with delivery, design, construction, project controls, subcontractor, supplier and stakeholder teams.
• Facilitate planning workshops and reviews; present recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
• Support interfaces between MEP, civil, structural and rail systems disciplines.

Governance and improvement

• Promote planning best practice and programme governance.
• Support lessons learned and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with BBV, HS2 and client planning requirements and standards.

Essential experience

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.
• Experience as a Senior Planner, Project Planner or MEP Planner on major infrastructure or construction projects.
• Significant experience planning mechanical, electrical and public health works, with advanced Primavera P6 expertise.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project controls and programme management.
• Experience creating integrated construction, testing and commissioning programmes.
• Ability to perform critical path and delay analysis.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, and understanding of delivery methodologies and programme governance.
