Opportunity
Risk Analyst supporting Balfour Beatty VINCI's HS2 construction work in the Midlands.
The Central Region role is based in Birmingham and covers Sublots Delta, 1B, 4, and 5S, including complex urban infrastructure and the Bromford Tunnel and Interchange Station.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate project risk identification and responses to threats and opportunities, including reviews and workshops.
- Maintain the project risk register.
- Analyse risk information using qualitative and quantitative techniques to advise senior management on threats, opportunities, and exposure.
- Aggregate and report project risks.
- Monitor mitigation actions and assess their effectiveness through regular reviews.
- Help develop SMART mitigations for critical project risks.
- Provide risk advice and support to project teams.
Essential experience
- Experience as a risk analyst in a construction or civil engineering project environment.
- Experience with QCRA tools and techniques, such as @Risk, ModelRisk, PRA, or Safran, and Monte Carlo simulation, interpretation, and reporting.
- Proficiency in data management, MS Excel, and Power BI.
- Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks.
- Self-starter able to manage time and proactively undertake value-adding work.
Project and employer
Balfour Beatty VINCI is delivering 90km of HS2 route in the Midlands, including bridges, tunnels, viaducts, and other infrastructure.
The joint venture has delivered projects including the Channel Tunnel, Crossrail, and motorway upgrades.
Employment and hours
- Full-time role with 40 hours per week.
Location
- The role is based in Birmingham; flexible working arrangements may be discussed subject to project requirements.
