The Project Controls Manager is part of the Planning and Project Controls function, based in Birmingham's Central Region.
Responsibilities
- Establish HS2 project controls requirements and ensure compliance.
- Support the Performance Measurement Baseline and Performance Measurement Updates.
- Integrate current and forecast programme, budget, cost and risk at asset and sub-asset level.
- Promote best practice and innovation; develop and coach project controls and planning staff.
- Set up lean, coordinated and visual performance metrics to support timely project delivery and improve performance.
- Use IT and systems for timely, accurate performance reporting; work collaboratively and focus on Zero Harm.
Essential experience
- Considerable, in-depth planning and project controls experience in large, complex construction and engineering environments.
- Understanding of tender documents, contracts and specifications; advanced project controls, planning and performance reporting knowledge.
- Risk and opportunity management experience and advanced knowledge of delay or change entitlement.
- Good understanding of construction markets, methods, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and developing others.
