Senior Network & Security Engineer

About This Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise network infrastructure and cybersecurity systems. The role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across on-premises and cloud environments while protecting the organization from evolving cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN)
• Configure and support routing, switching, and network segmentation
• Implement and maintain network security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure gateways
• Manage and optimize firewall platforms such as:
• Cisco (ASA / Firepower)
• Fortinet (FortiGate)
• Palo Alto Networks (Next-Gen Firewalls)
• Check Point (Security Gateways)
• Monitor network performance, availability, and security events using monitoring tools
• Perform threat analysis, incident response, and root cause investigations
• Manage secure remote access solutions (VPN, Zero Trust, MFA integration)
• Implement network security policies, standards, and best practices
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation planning
• Support cloud networking and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or similar)
• Collaborate with security teams on SOC operations and threat intelligence
• Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture and security configurations

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–10+ years of experience in network engineering and cybersecurity roles
• Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and security appliances
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and network protocols
• Experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
• Strong knowledge of network security principles and encryption technologies
• Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or similar)
• Experience in incident response and security troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, NSE, PCNSE, or equivalent
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and SASE frameworks
• Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel)
• Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or automation tools)
