About This Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, automation, and security across mission-critical server environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and manage enterprise Linux servers in production environments
  • Administer and support Linux distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, or Oracle Linux
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high system uptime
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and system security policies
  • Perform patch management, system upgrades, and kernel tuning
  • Implement and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Automate system administration tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, or Ansible)
  • Manage storage, file systems, and LVM configurations
  • Support virtualization and cloud environments (VMware, AWS, Azure, or similar)
  • Configure and maintain services such as Apache, Nginx, DNS, SSH, FTP, and NFS
  • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and performance issues
  • Maintain documentation for infrastructure, procedures, and configurations
  • Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for infrastructure support

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8+ years of experience in Linux system administration or engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Linux environments
  • Solid understanding of system performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Experience with shell scripting (Bash) and automation tools
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, routing, firewalls)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.)
  • Experience in virtualization and/or cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of security hardening and compliance standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet
  • Experience in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
