Senior MEP Coordinator

Role scope

Coordination and design review

• Lead coordination across MEP, civil, infrastructure, irrigation, landscape, and architectural systems; manage procedures, workflows, interfaces, and deliverable schedules.
• Coordinate utilities, building services, pump stations, plant rooms, specialist external systems, and utility-agency connections.
• Review coordinated services and SEM drawings, shop drawings, builders’ work drawings, plant-room layouts, shafts, risers, and equipment-access routes.
• Resolve clashes and verify clearances, levels, access, maintenance zones, constructability, and sequencing.
• Chair coordination workshops; maintain clash registers, interface logs, decisions, action trackers, and closure status.
• Use Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, federated models, and clash reports to verify coordinated solutions across drawings, models, schedules, and submissions.

Construction and site coordination

• Review method statements and technical queries; verify sleeves, openings, embedded items, supports, trenches, and service penetrations before construction.
• Inspect installations, identify deviations, coordinate updates, and resolve field conflicts; prevent unauthorized cutting or modification of completed works.
• Monitor coordination against construction and commissioning programs and advise the Project Manager on risks, delays, and interventions.

Testing, commissioning, and handover

• Support testing and commissioning plans and review integrated testing matrices for mechanical, electrical, controls, and life-safety systems.
• Oversee integrated systems testing, coordinate interfaces and test requirements, and track observations, corrective actions, retesting, and acceptance.
• Coordinate training and technical handover; verify redlines and as-built drawings and BIM models, and review O&M manuals, asset registers, warranties, and closeout dossiers.

Experience and education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
• At least 15 years of professional experience in multidisciplinary MEP coordination on major building and infrastructure developments.
• Experience in engineering supervision consultancies, project-management consultancies, or equivalent Client-representative environments.
• Proven coordination of horizontal civil infrastructure with complex vertical building systems.

Technical qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life-safety, BMS, low-current, and utility systems.
• Experience with underground wet and dry utilities, pump stations, plant rooms, specialist external systems, and coordinated construction drawings.
• Advanced proficiency in Navisworks clash detection, AutoCAD, and BIM/Revit workflows; experience with federated models and model-based coordination.
• Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and project closeout; ability to interpret complex technical documents.

Language

• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

Compliance and reporting

• Prepare periodic reports on clashes, decisions, outstanding interfaces, risks, and actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi codes, Civil Defense requirements, utility regulations, Client procedures, quality standards, and occupational health and safety requirements.
