Senior Manager- Interior Design

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design from concept and design brief through design development, procurement, and execution.
• Review consultant submissions against design standards, project objectives, quality expectations, and approved design intent.
• Oversee project-specific briefs and translate them into deliverable design solutions.
• Assess designs commercially and technically, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities.
• Lead value engineering to achieve budgets without compromising quality or product positioning.
• Manage consultants, performance, deliverables, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, procurement teams, and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, quality, programme, budget, and risks; report recommendations to senior management.
• Lead internal design teams, supporting collaboration, quality control, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, governance, regulatory standards, and industry practices.
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and delivery discipline.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree is advantageous.
• 8–10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in real estate development, design consultancy, or a comparable development environment.
• Experience managing interior design from concept and development through implementation.
• Strong understanding of real estate development and integration with architectural, structural, MEP, and construction requirements.
• Experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Good understanding of design budgets, cost management, and value engineering.
• Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, specifications, technical detailing, and construction processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; other relevant design software is advantageous.
• Project management skills including planning, scheduling, risk management, and quality control.
