Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, calculation, validation, and maintenance of core economic indicators including national accounts, price indices, trade statistics, and labour market indicators
• Ensure methodologies align with international standards and are suitable for official dissemination
• Document methodologies, data sources, assumptions, and revision policies to ensure transparency and auditability
• Support extension of statistical frameworks to population, social, and environmental indicators, including SDG-aligned metrics
• Ensure alignment with international statistical standards including GSBPM, GSIM, SDMX, and DDI
• Define and enforce data quality, validation, and governance frameworks across the statistical lifecycle
• Support traceability, version control, revision management, and audit readiness
• Translate statistical logic into platform-ready data models, validation rules, and analytical workflows
• Validate dashboards and analytical outputs to ensure consistency with approved methodologies
• Engage government stakeholders and data providers through workshops, technical sessions, and governance forums
• Support training, onboarding, and institutional capacity building
• Prepare methodology notes, indicator briefs, and decision-ready summaries for senior officials
• Comply with QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management and Governance of Organizations policies, procedures, plans, and related risk assessments

Requirements

• *Qualifications & Experience*
• 8–12+ years of experience in official statistics, national statistical offices, international organizations, or economic/statistical consulting
• Strong grounding in economic statistics with exposure to population, social, or environmental statistics
• Proven experience working with international statistical standards and quality assurance frameworks
• Experience supporting national or government-led statistical programs
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and policy stakeholders
• *Preferred Qualifications*
• Experience with national statistical authorities or international statistical organizations
• Exposure to SDG reporting, sustainability statistics, or environmental-economic accounting
• Academic background in statistics, economics, econometrics, or a related field
