The opportunity

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale usage, performance, and cost data to understand customer behavior, friction, adoption, retention, and growth.
• Design and run experiments, including A/B tests, causal analyses, and statistical evaluations.
• Build customer-facing data products such as usage analytics, model rankings, task classification, and recommendations.
• Develop models, classifiers, and scoring or ranking systems for model and provider selection.
• Define product metrics and connect them to roadmap and architectural decisions.
• Partner with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to ship features.
• Contribute to data models, pipelines, and the analytical warehouse.
• Evaluate model quality through online and offline evaluations, benchmarking, and human-in-the-loop assessment.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Required qualifications

• Degree background in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; Master’s or PhD is a plus.
• 8+ years in data science, applied ML, or a quantitative product role.
• Strong statistical and experimental foundations, including experimental design, A/B testing, and causal inference.
• Strong SQL for complex, performant queries against large analytical databases.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar language for analysis, model prototyping, simulations, and data pipelines.
• Experience shipping production data products such as models, classifiers, ranking systems, or automated decisioning.
• Ability to partner with product and engineering to deliver customer-facing features.
• Fluency with AI and LLM behavior and evaluation; excellent written and verbal communication.

Preferred qualifications

• LLM evaluation and benchmarking, including online or offline evaluations and human-in-the-loop assessment.
• Familiarity with AI inference and model-serving concepts such as latency, throughput, cost, and routing.
• Experience with developer platforms, APIs or SDKs, usage-based products, data modeling, or modern warehouse tools.
• NLP or ML engineering experience with classifiers, embeddings, or ranking models.
• Experience in regulated, sovereign, or enterprise environments, or familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
