Senior Manager, Data Governance

Role overview

Data governance leadership

• Enable and oversee the governance framework for public and private investment data.
• Advance organizational behaviors, policies, standards, governance metrics, processes, tools, and data architecture to mitigate data risk.
• Work with senior leadership and the Data Governance Committee to assign data owner, steward, and custodian roles and ensure they are understood and executed.
• Identify and document in-scope data assets.

Data risk, quality, and transformation

• Conduct data risk assessments and develop plans to mature governance capabilities and priorities.
• Catalog data assets, metadata, and lineage; establish data-quality baselines and monitoring standards.
• Support governance foundations for large-scale transformation initiatives with technology and business stakeholders.
• Support creation and adoption of data policies, standards, and guidelines.

Required skills and experience

• Experience in data governance strategy and program delivery, including establishing policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Knowledge of leading data quality management practices.
• Knowledge of investment products, processes, and related data across public markets trade lifecycles and private investment deal processes.
• Demonstrated consulting and leadership skills and experience applying change-management concepts and strategies.
• Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder-engagement skills; strategic, change, and results orientation.
• Self-starter with initiative and eagerness and aptitude for learning.

Preferred skills and experience

• Experience communicating with executives at Director level or above.
• Strategy development, strategic thinking, roadmap development, and planning experience.
• Experience in data operations or operational data management.
• Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions.

Compensation

• Expected salary range is CAD 122,000–188,000 per year.
• An annual incentive award may be available under short-term and long-term incentive plans, where applicable.
• Group benefits and retirement plans may also be available.
