Senior Manager - Access Network Operations

Role overview

Operations and leadership

• Lead daily operations of global access network infrastructure and ensure high availability and adherence to service-level agreements.
• Direct critical incident triage, root cause analysis, escalation, and stakeholder communications.
• Oversee network change management, migrations, and technology refreshes with minimal disruption.
• Run post-incident reviews and problem management to address resilience gaps and recurring issues.
• Lead and mentor a roughly 15-person technical operations team, including coaching, performance development, and succession planning.
• Represent the team in cross-training, vendor calls, implementation planning, and strategic technology discussions.

Modernization and planning

• Champion SRE transformation, automation, observability, proactive incident detection and remediation, and AI-assisted operations.
• Prioritize automation in incident response, monitoring, alerting, and routine operational work.
• Partner with engineering and technology teams to evaluate AI agents, intelligent alerting, and predictive analytics.
• Maintain standards, runbooks, and documentation for consistent global operations.
• Develop operational strategies and participate in network refresh, SD-WAN expansion, and infrastructure upgrade planning.
• Coordinate with network engineering, integration, and business technology teams to integrate new platforms.
• Represent operations in executive discussions and communicate metrics, risks, and transformation progress.

Required qualifications

• 6–8 years of enterprise network operations experience, including 2–4 years in leadership or senior technical management.
• Proven modernization and automation delivery experience, including infrastructure automation, orchestration platforms, or emerging technologies such as AI-assisted operations.
• Strong SRE foundation in runbooks, automation, observability, and metrics-driven operations.
• Hands-on knowledge of routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, STP, VRF, L2/L3 protocols, SD-WAN, remote access/NAC, Aruba wireless, ClearPass, global Wi-Fi, and ATM networks.
• Strong critical incident management experience, root cause analysis, and communication in high-pressure situations.
• Experience managing technical operations teams of 15 or more and accountability for service-level agreements, metrics, and business deliverables.

Preferred qualifications

• CCNP, CISSP, or another relevant network certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with Python, Ansible, or Bash is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration platforms, AI agents, or intelligent alerting systems is a plus.
• Experience leading cross-functional digital transformation or infrastructure modernization programs is a plus.
