About The Job
Trip.com Group is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Legal Counsel to join our EMEA Legal team, based in Dubai and reporting to the Legal Director, EMEA.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our fast-paced, global travel business.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
· Providing commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders on key projects and new initiatives, with a focus on practical solutions and clear next steps.
· Navigating complex multi-jurisdictional legal issues across EMEA, coordinating with other Trip.com Group legal teams to deliver comprehensive, coherent advice.
· Leading on compliance matters across a broad range of areas - including data protection, consumer protection, emerging digital and technology regulation, marketing and promotions, and travel-specific regulation - translating legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance.
· Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments across EMEA, assessing their impact on the business, and driving implementation projects to ensure timely compliance.
· Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including high-value agreements with travel product suppliers and partners.
· Building trusted relationships across the business - with senior commercial, finance, HR and marketing stakeholders - acting as a genuine business partner who understands and champions commercial objectives.
· Communicating complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, and delivering engaging training sessions and practical guidance materials to embed legal awareness across the business.
· Managing and resolving commercial and consumer legal disputes, working collaboratively with internal teams to achieve the best outcomes.
· Supporting the business in its engagement with regulators across EMEA and collaborating with other European legal teams within the Trip.com Group, including Travix and Skyscanner.
· Instructing and managing relationships with local law firms across EMEA, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective external legal support.
· Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of legal processes, templates and tools to support a scaling, fast-paced international business.
· Working as an integral part of a dynamic, multicultural legal team with the opportunity to engage across a broad range of legal disciplines and jurisdictions in one of the world's leading online travel groups.
What you'll need to succeed:
· Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience, including significant time in-house and at least 4 years practicing in UAE and/or KSA.
· Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.
· Background in a B2C or tech platform environment is highly advantageous.
· Technically strong across relevant legal disciplines, with a solid grasp of the commercial and regulatory landscape relevant to an international online business.
· Commercially minded and solution-focused, with the ability to cut through complexity, exercise sound judgement and deliver clear, actionable advice.
· A confident and credible communicator, able to engage and influence senior stakeholders across functions and geographies, and to explain complex legal issues in plain, accessible terms.
· A natural collaborator who thrives in a multicultural, international environment and builds strong relationships across teams and borders.
· Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload independently, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines without close supervision.
· Curious and adaptable, with a genuine enthusiasm for taking on new challenges, keeping pace with legal and regulatory change, and growing with the business.
· A passion for the travel industry and an appreciation of the unique commercial, regulatory and cultural dynamics of operating an international travel agency across EMEA.
What we will provide:
· Competitive salary with the opportunity for annual review and progression.
· Access to extensive learning and development opportunities across leadership, soft skills and professional expertise.
· Flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
· Opportunities to travel internationally and collaborate with teams across our global network.
· Employee discounts on travel products through Trip.com.
· A vibrant, inclusive team culture with regular company-sponsored events and celebrations.
