Full Job Posting

Role overview

Own end-to-end technical execution and delivery of Linux-based software platforms across kernel, BSP, middleware, and system integration layers.

Act as technical integrator and execution owner across silicon, software, validation, and product teams.

Relevant experience stated: 8 to 10 years.

Technical delivery and leadership

  • Own planning, execution, and delivery of Linux platform milestones from bring-up and stabilization through releases.
  • Drive SoC BSP and platform enablement across bootloader, kernel, device tree, drivers, and root filesystem.
  • Coordinate kernel, Yocto/build, middleware, validation, security, customer, SoC, firmware, hardware, and power/performance teams.
  • Guide kernel, device tree, build-system, and boot-flow decisions; review architecture for scalability, reuse, and upstream compatibility.
  • Track readiness, risks, and quality metrics; resolve system-level boot, stability, performance, and CVE issues.
  • Deliver release artifacts, documentation, and handoffs; review patches for upstream quality, licensing, and maintainability.
  • Support customer reviews and issue triage, translate requirements into execution plans, and communicate status, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Promote upstream-first and open-source compliance practices and engage with open-source communities as needed.

Required qualifications

  • Strong Linux kernel internals expertise, including drivers, power, memory, scheduling, and security.
  • Hands-on embedded Linux BSP development experience.
  • Working knowledge of Yocto/OWRT Project or BitBake, Device Tree, UEFI/U-Boot, and ftrace, perf, gdb, crash, or JTAG.
  • Experience with ARM-based SoCs and hardware bring-up.
  • Proven ability to drive complex multi-team programs, manage dependencies, risks, and milestones, and balance technical depth with deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to work with senior engineers, architects, and executive stakeholders and influence without authority.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field plus 3+ years of related experience; or master's plus 2+ years; or PhD plus 1+ year.
  • At least 2 years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.

Preferred qualifications

  • Mainline Linux development or upstream contributions are preferred.
  • Virtualization (KVM, Xen, Gunyah) or container exposure is preferred.
  • Security hardening, CVE management, and compliance experience is preferred.
  • Prior Tech Lead, System Lead, or Project Engineer experience for platform software is preferred.

Success measures

On-time delivery of Linux platform milestones and releases.

Platform stability, quality, and upstream alignment.

Fewer integration issues and late-cycle surprises, with strong cross-team trust and predictable execution.
