Role overview

Join a permanent feature team as a senior Java developer/software engineer building a new real-time banking platform.

Develop platform knowledge across business, applications, data, and infrastructure, working with principal engineers, domain architects, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software from the backlog using Agile methods and deliver resilient, long-lived software.
  • Create intentional architecture and emergent designs through ideas, experimentation, and prototyping.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment using executable patterns.
  • Design, produce, test, and implement working software across the system lifecycle.
  • Build and operate services for a real-time banking platform and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

  • Strong production experience with continuous-deployment practices.
  • Strong experience building and operating cloud-native services, including Spring Boot, with automation as a core principle.
  • Experience building robust, resilient, defensively coded distributed systems; Kafka is given as an example.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs at scale, including versioning, observability, monitoring, and forward and backward compatibility.
  • Experience with orchestrated and choreographed event-driven architectures.
  • Experience operating distributed cloud-native environments with complex failure modes and applying thoughtful system design and assurance.
  • Ability to coach and mentor engineers and experience working effectively in autonomous, empowered teams aligned to product outcomes.
  • Exposure to agentic coding practices is beneficial.
