A software vendor in the security space is seeking an experienced backend developer with a telecoms background.
Design, build, and run high-volume data services with end-to-end ownership of features and production reliability.
What you'll do
- Design and build services that process and store large volumes of data, including telecoms signalling and media traffic, and choose suitable storage technologies.
- Maintain and improve services for performance, stability, and data integrity.
- Troubleshoot production issues across code, infrastructure, networks, and databases.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code in a peer-review culture.
- Work with cross-functional teams, customers, and end users; shape features with users and deliver in short iterations.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of professional software development, with Java 8+ as the primary language.
- Telecoms experience and hands-on knowledge of 3GPP standards and SIP/RTP protocols.
- Solid experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience building distributed, microservice-based, and event-driven systems.
- Strong grasp of architecture, design patterns, and trade-offs.
- Hands-on Docker and Linux experience, command-line proficiency, and observability experience with Prometheus and Grafana.
- Understanding of Mechanical Sympathy and working knowledge of low-level network programming.
Nice to have
- Exposure to IMS, VoLTE/VoNR, Diameter, or SS7.
- Experience with Spring Boot; Kafka, RabbitMQ, NSQ, or ActiveMQ; MongoDB and Elasticsearch; Spark, Iceberg, or data warehouse design; S3-style object storage; Ansible, Kubernetes, or Python.
