Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Platform/DevOps)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Deliver infrastructure and tooling for continuous delivery; improve and automate platform services.
• Build, administer, support and maintain solutions and work with development teams on project infrastructure.
• Design and develop infrastructure as code, source repositories and CI/CD pipelines for cloud environments.
• Translate architectural designs and technical requirements into operational services and DevOps toolchains.
• Collaborate on availability, security, capacity and performance; ensure deployments are repeatable and scalable.
• Provide technical support, solve complex problems, and maintain and follow best-practice guides.

Person specification

• Expert knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD tooling and principles, cloud technology principles, and Git.
• AWS is preferred as a cloud technology example; Concourse is an example of CI/CD tooling.
• Working knowledge of Ansible, Packer, Docker containerisation and Unix/Linux.
• Security Clearance is essential; applicants need to have been in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years to be eligible for SC.

Location and working arrangements

• The advertised location states remote working anywhere in the UK.
• The team is based in Cardiff and a hybrid contract is the standard offering; remote contracts may be considered when commuting is not reasonably practicable.
• Flexible working is available, with no core hours between 6am and 8pm.

Salary and benefits

• Salary range is £41,509–£58,044, including base salary of £41,509–£47,044 and a DDaT allowance of £4,350–£11,000 based on assessed skills and experience.
