Senior HVAC + MEP Designer

Role Overview

Design Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems, ventilation, air conditioning, and ductwork layouts.
• Prepare equipment layouts for air handling units, fan coil units, blowers, chillers, and related equipment.
• Develop 2D air-side drawings, HVAC layouts, piping, ducting, sanitation, and accessories.
• Model equipment from vendor data and prepare HVAC material take-offs.
• Design supports and accessories such as grilles, dampers, and louvers.
• Prepare schematics, issued-for-construction drawings, and bills of quantities.
• Perform load calculations, duct sizing, and equipment selection.

Coordination

• Coordinate MEP systems with architectural, structural, process, utility, and contractor teams.
• Support successful project execution and ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards.

Experience and Qualifications

• 12–15 years of HVAC and MEP design experience are required.
• At least 5 years of oil and gas industry experience are required.
• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is mandatory.
• Infrastructure, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, greenfield, brownfield, concept, FEED, and detailed engineering exposure in the Middle East is preferred.
• Onshore and offshore experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and MS Office is required.
• Ability to prepare air flow diagrams and PIDs independently in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Hands-on E3D modeling of HVAC ducting and accessories is required, particularly for offshore projects.
• Experience with S3D is advantageous, and PDMS is used for general arrangement drawing extraction.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, NBC, IS, IEC, and local regulations is desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to communicate in English is required.
