Senior Housekeeper (Assistant Housekeeping Manager)

Position overview

What you'll do

• Assist with overseeing housekeeping operations and daily department activity.
• Guide and develop a multicultural team to meet Dorchester standards.
• Support housekeeping shifts and ensure guestrooms, public spaces, and colleague areas are clean and well maintained.
• Complete inspections and hold colleagues accountable for corrective action.
• Maintain guest and colleague satisfaction while working within the operating budget.
• Help manage controllable expenses and meet or exceed budget goals.
• Guide, lead, and motivate the housekeeping team.
• Assist with recruitment, departmental training, and disciplinary procedures.

What you'll bring

• At least two years of experience in a similar position at a luxury five-star brand.
• Leadership skills to develop and guide a multicultural team.
• Commercial awareness and cost-control capabilities.
• Ability to comprehend P&L statements, payroll, and purchasing systems.
• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and adaptability.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills; guest-focused service approach.
• Comfortable communicating in English, the hotel's primary language.
• Middle East experience is advantageous.
