Senior Full Stack Engineer role based in Toronto, Ontario.
Full-time position with an onsite work model.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Java applications, services, and REST APIs using clean code and design patterns.
- Write unit tests with JUnit and Mockito; apply TDD and continuous testing.
- Apply secure coding and security-by-design throughout the development lifecycle.
- Lead code reviews and pair programming; refactor code to improve quality and reduce technical debt.
- Integrate automated testing, analysis, security scans, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams and resolve complex technical issues.
- Evaluate AI-assisted development and developer experience technologies.
Required experience and skills
- 5+ years of Java or Node.js software development experience across the application lifecycle.
- Strong core Java knowledge, including concurrency, streams, generics, and JVM memory management.
- Hands-on JUnit and Mockito experience; knowledge of TDD and continuous testing.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, secure coding, and application security.
- Experience with code analysis, coverage and security tools, build tools, source control, and CI/CD.
Preferred and additional skills
- Modern UI experience with React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, or CSS is preferred.
- Added advantages include AI coding tools, agentic workflows, Backstage, CI/CD tooling, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery.
- A computer science or related technology degree or college diploma is an added advantage.
