Role overview

Emergency response and vehicle operation

• Respond to aircraft incidents, structural fires, medical emergencies, and technical rescues.
• Drive and deploy Major Foam Vehicles, water tankers, escape stairs, and utility vehicles under AES policies and ICAO category requirements.
• Position vehicles and operate pumps, foam systems, and support equipment during incidents.

Readiness, firefighting, and station duties

• Check vehicles, firefighting equipment, and PPE daily; report faults or damage and maintain inspection records.
• Perform firefighting, rescue, casualty care, hazardous materials response, and support operations using breathing apparatus and specialist equipment as required.
• Maintain station housekeeping and assist with inventories, inspections, and records.
• Participate in daily ROC training, scheduled courses, assessments, and drills.

Compliance, safety, and team support

• Comply with GCAA, ICAO, AES, and health and safety requirements; report hazards, near misses, and incidents through AES procedures.
• Maintain professional conduct and support team cohesion through collaboration, communication, and respect.
• Support company and Airport Safety Management Systems, minimize environmental impacts, and follow airport security access procedures; report suspicious activity.
• Perform assigned fire prevention, community engagement, and support activities, and act in the Firefighter role when operationally required.

Qualifications and experience

• Certified Aviation Firefighter qualification.
• Valid UAE Heavy Vehicle driving license and Emergency Vehicle Driver Training qualification.
• Ability to obtain an airside driving permit for the movement area.
• At least 2 years of experience in airport firefighting or an equivalent emergency response role.
• Maintain operational fitness and meet medical and physical standards, including health assessments and fitness testing.
• Competence in appliance operation, pump usage, and tactical deployment; ability to work under pressure with strong teamwork, communication, and situational awareness.
