The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant sits in Markel International’s Lloyd’s and Solvency UK Reporting team.
The role leads Lloyd’s regulatory returns and UK GAAP reporting for Syndicate 3000, contributing analysis and stronger reporting controls.
What you’ll do
- Lead accurate, timely preparation and evaluation of Lloyd’s regulatory returns.
- Produce quarterly and annual UK GAAP reporting, including board papers, management reporting and statutory financial statements for Syndicate 3000.
- Assist with Lloyd’s returns including QMA Delta, QMB, RRQ, Flash Reports, TRIA and other international regulatory submissions.
- Analyze underwriting results, broker balances, syndicate expenses, capital movements and quarterly performance.
- Work with Finance, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Internal Audit and external auditors.
- Improve reporting processes, controls and documentation.
- Guide junior team members and support team reporting capability.
- Monitor Lloyd’s, PRA and regulatory reporting requirements and assess impacts on processes.
What you’ll need
- Be a qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with reporting-environment experience.
- Lloyd’s experience is preferable but not essential.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and data interrogation skills and advanced Excel capability.
- Have experience with large financial and regulatory datasets and reporting tools or technology solutions.
- Bring attention to detail and communicate complex financial and regulatory information clearly.
