High-impact retail risk leadership role responsible for risk appetite, governance, and oversight across credit underwriting, portfolio management, collections, and fraud risk.
Partners with executive leadership to support sustainable, risk-adjusted growth and disciplined portfolio oversight.
Risk strategy and oversight
- Define and lead organization-wide retail risk strategy in alignment with business objectives and approved risk appetite.
- Oversee retail underwriting, portfolio management, collections, and fraud risk.
- Monitor asset quality, delinquencies, losses, and emerging risks; ensure timely mitigating action.
- Lead risk governance and compliance with applicable regulation, Basel standards, IFRS 9, and internal policies.
Analytics, governance, and leadership
- Advance analytics, scorecards, automated decisioning, and digital risk capabilities.
- Oversee stress testing, provisioning, and the capital impact of retail portfolios.
- Provide risk insights to executive leadership and governance forums; engage regulators and senior stakeholders.
- Build and lead a multi-location retail risk leadership team and drive continuous improvement in risk methods.
Candidate profile
- Senior retail risk leadership experience; Director-level or above experience is preferred.
- At least 15 years of retail risk experience in banking or financial services, including substantial leadership responsibility.
- Deep expertise across credit risk, portfolio management, collections, and fraud risk.
- Strong record managing large retail portfolios and defining risk strategy.
- In-depth knowledge of Basel, IFRS 9, regulatory compliance, and risk governance.
- Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams and influencing executives and regulators.
- Strategic mindset with strong execution and delivery capability.
