Senior Estimator

Role purpose

Estimation and tender duties

• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, scope, and contract requirements; address technical and commercial conditions.
• Prepare estimates, budgets, and pricing schedules for civil, softscape, hardscape, and infrastructure works.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for compliance, accuracy, scope, and cost.
• Prepare tender clarifications, inclusions, exclusions, and value-engineering proposals.
• Conduct site inspections, assess risks and opportunities, and recommend mitigation or cost adjustments.
• Lead pre- and post-tender meetings; review junior estimators’ work and mentor them.
• Submit tenders accurately and on time, following internal approvals.
• Maintain cost databases, historical data, unit rates, and vendor lists; coordinate with planning, engineering, and procurement on tenders and handovers.
• Support bid strategies, pricing benchmarks, and competitive positioning.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 9 years of estimation experience in civil, landscaping, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
• GCC experience is highly preferred.

Technical and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and estimation software such as CCS (Candy) or similar tools.
• Knowledge of civil construction, landscaping methods and materials, and market pricing; ability to interpret technical documents and build cost breakdowns.
• Communication, leadership, teamwork, mentoring, attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Comply with HSE systems, project plans, and procedures; participate in training, meetings, inspections, and safety initiatives.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses promptly and support departmental HSE KPIs through safe work practices.
