MEP Manager – Building Projects

Role purpose

Project delivery and coordination

• Lead MEP work from design review through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover; develop execution strategies and monitor progress.
• Review and approve drawings, submittals, and method statements; coordinate design interfaces and resolve clashes.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, ELV, and HVAC installation and provide technical support to site teams.
• Manage testing, balancing, flushing, commissioning, defects, and final closeout.
• Manage UAE authority approvals and inspections, including applicable municipality, DEWA, civil defense, DDA, Trakhees, RTA, and telecommunications approvals.
• Review variations, claims, and proposals; support procurement, cost control, and value engineering.
• Monitor HSE and QA/QC compliance, subcontractor performance, and contractual requirements.
• Liaise with stakeholders, report project progress, and lead, mentor, and allocate resources to MEP teams.

Qualifications and experience

• Mandatory bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 15 years of MEP engineering and building-construction experience, including at least seven years in an MEP Manager or senior MEP leadership role.
• Proven delivery of large-scale UAE/GCC building projects and strong contractor-side experience.
• Experience managing the full MEP lifecycle from design through commissioning and handover.
• A master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is an advantage; PMP certification is highly desirable; recognized engineering institution membership is preferred.

Technical knowledge and software

• Technical expertise includes HVAC, power distribution, plumbing and drainage, fire-fighting and fire alarm, ELV, BMS, chilled water, commissioning, MEP coordination, codes, value engineering, and energy efficiency.
• Software includes AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge includes Dubai Building Code, DEWA and Dubai Civil Defense regulations, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, BS, IEC, FIDIC, and authority approval procedures.

Project and leadership competencies

• Relevant projects include residential towers, commercial offices, mixed-use developments, hotels, hospitals, malls, airports, educational and government buildings, industrial facilities, and luxury residences.
• Competencies include leadership, strategic planning, decision-making, performance management, technical problem-solving, cost and budget control, procurement support, contract administration, and risk management.
• Project delivery capabilities include schedule management, quality assurance, HSE compliance, stakeholder and client relationship management, communication, negotiation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
