Senior Engineer - Solid Rocket Motors

About the role

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test propulsion systems using thermodynamic, fluid dynamic, and structural principles, from concept through performance validation.
• Lead propulsion projects, managing technical interfaces, design reviews, verification, and delivery of milestones on time and within budget.
• Define system requirements and maintain technical baselines and configuration control.
• Mentor entry-level engineers, review technical outputs, and support knowledge transfer.
• Support additive manufacturing, laser welding, milling, and heat treatment; collaborate to resolve non-conformances and meet specifications.
• Advise on PLM software implementation, process standardisation, and data integrity across design, manufacturing, and testing.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, test reports, and interface control documents to customer and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate between technical teams and project management, communicate engineering challenges, and flag cross-discipline risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
• At least 10 years of experience in rocket propulsion development.
• Experience developing and producing solid rocket motor data packs.
• Experience developing solid propellant rocket motors for missile applications.
