Coating and insulation works

Site and team oversight

• Supervise painting and insulation teams, plan schedules, allocate resources, and coordinate labor to meet deadlines efficiently.
• Inspect work progress, quality, safety, materials, and compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, ensure safety compliance, and manage materials and equipment to limit waste.
• Identify defects or issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent rework.

Coating work

• Review and approve project specifications, procedures, ITPs, method statements, QCPs, and material approvals; organize kickoff meetings to resolve clarifications and conflicts.
• Verify paint, thinner, and abrasive materials against approved orders, specifications, certificates, data sheets, safety information, and storage requirements.
• Review qualified painting and blasting operators, subcontractor work history, instrument calibration logs, and equipment calibration needs.
• Monitor blasting and painting conditions, including temperature, dew point, humidity, and substrate temperature.
• Evaluate surface cleanliness and preparation, including defects, contaminants, compressed-air contamination, dust, surface profile, and soluble salts.
• Verify paint mixing ratios, application technique, wet and dry film thickness, stripe coats, curing, holiday testing, and adhesion tests.
• Evaluate paint defects, recommend repairs, and verify repairs follow the approved procedure.

Insulation work

• Review and approve insulation specifications, procedures, ITPs, method statements, QCPs, and material approvals; organize kickoff meetings to resolve issues.
• Approve insulation material thickness, thermal conductivity, density, wire mesh, and vapor-barrier quality against standards and specifications.
• Verify substrates, system release, clean and dry surfaces, heat tracing, supports, insulation layers, thickness, bands, joints, and preformed fittings.
• Inspect vapor barriers, expansion and contraction joints, metallic and nonmetallic cladding, sealants, overlaps, terminations, valves, flanges, inspection windows, and removable boxes.

Key qualifications and skills

• Construction painting and insulation installation experience.
• Supervisory and leadership skills, plus project management and coordination ability.
• Quality control, safety management, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Knowledge of insulation materials and installation methods; ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
