Role overview

The Senior ELM - Developer Productivity owns architecture and delivery of Developer Experience and Release Engineering capabilities.

The role leads a global engineering team and works with Quality & Delivery peers to transform software delivery into a gated lifecycle supporting human and agentic development.

Engineering strategy and delivery

  • Elevate Developer Experience and Release Engineering into mature, industry-leading practices.
  • Architect deterministic and agent-evaluated gates across Define, Build, Verify, Release, and Operate stages.
  • Design policy-as-code enforcement, contract testing, mutation scoring, and SLO-driven progressive delivery with error budgets and automated rollbacks.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to plan the gated SDLC roadmap and integrate with Test Engineering and Application Services.
  • Assess current practices, tooling, and workflows; identify friction and translate findings into prioritized plans.

Operational excellence

  • Own planning, execution, and delivery outcomes for Developer Experience and Release Engineering.
  • Apply governance, standards, and policy-as-code to centralize tooling, pipelines, and enablement.
  • Use delivery metrics such as change failure rate, lead time, deployment frequency, and MTTR to evaluate effectiveness and drive improvement.
  • Manage delivery and release risks and cross-team dependencies.

People leadership

  • Drive adoption of standards and tools across teams and communicate recommendations and progress to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop engineers across Toronto and Bengaluru; set expectations, provide feedback, and manage performance and career growth.
  • Foster collaboration and an inclusive culture across regions and time zones.

Candidate requirements

  • Demonstrated history of Release Engineering transformation and a clear perspective on the discipline's future.
  • Capability to own architecture and delivery of Developer Experience and Release Engineering.
  • Experience with gated SDLC design, policy-as-code, contract testing, mutation scoring, and SLO-driven progressive delivery.
  • Ability to evaluate delivery metrics, identify improvement opportunities, manage risks and dependencies, and communicate recommendations.
  • People leadership experience including recruiting, onboarding, development, feedback, and performance management.

Work arrangement

  • The posting identifies the role as hybrid in Toronto.
