Core Responsibilities
- System Architecture: Design single-line diagrams (SLDs) for Low Voltage (LV) generator sets and synchronizing panels.
- Technical Documentation: Develop detailed wiring schematics, cable schedules, and termination drawings for generator control panels and auxiliary systems.
- Package Integration: Design the electrical interface between the diesel engine, alternator, and other plant equipment, such as fuel systems and cooling fans.
- Control & Protection: Knowledge in generator controllers like Deep Sea, ComAp, or Woodward and protection relays for overcurrent, earth fault, and differential protection.
- Load Studies: Perform electrical calculations.
- BOM & Procurement: Prepare comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications for procurement, including alternators and breakers
Technical Skills & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Diploma holders with extensive design experience may be considered).
- Industry Standards: Knowledge of international standards like IEC 60034 (Rotating electrical machines) and IEEE.
- Software Proficiency: Experience level in AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software like ETAP is an added advantage.
- Equipment Knowledge:
- Familiarity with major alternator brands like Mecc-alte, Leroy Somer, Stamford).
- Experience with LV/MV switchgear and Motor Control Centers (MCC).
- Experience – Min 5 years’ experience in the same field.
