Senior Electrical Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Review IFC designs and shop drawings against TAQA Distribution requirements.
• Prepare and check SLDs, schedules, layouts, LV cable routes, earthing, and lightning protection drawings.
• Perform and verify electrical calculations, including load, cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, protection, earthing, and lighting.
• Lead TAQA submissions, approvals, load applications, NOCs, inspections, and comment close-out.
• Prepare and review LV/ELV equipment submittals; write method statements and answer RFIs and site queries.
• Propose value engineering; support tenders with quantity take-offs and compliance information.
• Coordinate project stakeholders, guide engineers and draftsmen, and set technical standards.
• Witness commissioning and confirm readiness for TAQA inspection and supply activation.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering on building projects for contractors or consultants, including 5+ years in Abu Dhabi or the wider UAE.
• ADQCC-approved Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience obtaining TAQA Distribution drawing and load approvals for building LV distribution.
• Proficiency in ETAP or equivalent, DIALux, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of Abu Dhabi Electricity Wiring Regulations, TAQA Distribution standards, BS 7671/IEC standards, and Civil Defence requirements.

Preferred qualifications

• UAE Society of Engineers membership, building design experience, working knowledge of ELV systems, and a valid UAE driving licence are preferred.

Compensation

• Full-time role paying AED 10,000–15,000 per month.
