Electrical Project Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute LV cabling, LV panels, distribution boards, containment, wiring, lighting, earthing, and ELV works.
• Prepare three-week look-ahead plans and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment with site supervisors.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, MEP trades, and TAQA inspectors; resolve site technical issues.
• Raise and close WIR/MIR requests, RFIs, and site instructions; requisition materials and track deliveries.
• Manage subcontractors and labour supply for productivity, quality, and measurement.
• Report progress and support monthly payment applications and variation records.
• Organise testing, commissioning, TAQA inspections, supply activation, meter clearance, snagging, and handover documents.
• Enforce HSE procedures, including method statements, risk assessments, permits to work, and toolbox talks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of electrical or MEP execution on building projects, including 4 years on UAE building sites.
• Experience taking building projects through TAQA Distribution (ADDC/AADC) inspection and supply activation.
• Working knowledge of Abu Dhabi Electricity Wiring Regulations and TAQA Distribution standards.
• Able to read and check shop drawings, SLDs, cable schedules, and specifications.
• AutoCAD and MS Office knowledge; able to read Primavera P6 or MS Project programmes.
• Valid UAE driving licence.

Preferred qualifications

• ADQCC-approved Electrical Engineer status is preferred.
• TAQA Distribution HSEQ Competence Register approval as Competent Person is preferred.
• Experience managing several buildings or work fronts in parallel is preferred.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 10,000–15,000 per month.
