Role overview
Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical engineering and construction project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement designs from technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Lead electrical-system design, development, testing, installation, and commissioning.
- Review and approve electrical drawings, design plans, load schedules, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Design and review MEP electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, material requirements, and cost estimates using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other relevant tools.
- Perform load calculations and energy analysis, optimize systems, and select equipment.
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance for compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Supervise site works and monitor progress against drawings, quality standards, and schedules.
- Conduct inspections, technical audits, diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting; resolve technical issues during and after construction.
- Coordinate technical clarifications and project progress with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
Technical skills
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits, distribution and power systems, lighting systems, and related MEP services.
- Knowledge of electrical and plumbing/MEP network coordination in building projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and relevant engineering/design software.
- Knowledge of electrical design, load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit calculations, and equipment selection.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- SOE Card (Society of Engineers) membership/certification.
- DEWA-approved Electrical Engineer.
- Minimum 7–10 years of relevant UAE experience in electrical engineering and construction projects.
Pay
- AED 5,000–10,000 per month.
