Senior Design Manager

Role overview

Design delivery

• Lead design delivery from project briefs and stakeholder alignment through vendor appointment, design review, and permitting.
• Coordinate with project directors, managers, and stakeholders to meet the project brief, budget, and programme through handover.
• Review design compliance with company standards, local codes, regulations, and project requirements.
• Report progress against agreed plans, budgets, and programmes.

Partners and technical quality

• Manage external design vendors and ensure consultants and contractors deliver quality, cost-effective services.
• Conduct specialist technical reviews within the scope of expertise.
• Build relationships with authorities, consultants, and equipment vendors.
• Promote design reliability, constructability, operational efficiency, maintainability, and sustainability.

Design and Engineering context

Qualifications and experience

• Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering data center, mission-critical, or comparable high-technology, MEP-intensive facilities.
• Multidisciplinary design team experience, including lead management; background may include design consultancy, client, site, or contractor engineering.
• For UK-based roles, willingness to undergo security screening under BS 7858:2019.

Languages

• Strong written and verbal communication in English and French is required.
• German proficiency is advantageous.

Project locations

• Projects are primarily in Paris and may include London, Amsterdam, Germany, and wider EMEA.
