Role overview

Security Officer Level 1 role protecting an NTT Global Data Center in Hemel Hempstead, including its clients, visitors, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol the property and inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
  • Monitor CCTV and other surveillance equipment.
  • Manage access control, permit authorized entry, issue passes, and collect identification.
  • Report irregularities and inform violators of policies to help prevent loss or damage.
  • Assist with fire drills and alarms and uphold health and safety rules.
  • Perform reception duties and assist the Security Manager or Deputy Manager where applicable.
  • Carry out other reasonable activities supporting day-to-day company operations.

Candidate requirements

  • Hold a valid Front-Line SIA Licence.
  • Be able to work a 12-hour rolling rota of four days and four nights, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019.
  • Communicate effectively, build working relationships, show initiative, and demonstrate good observation skills.

Shift pattern

  • Four days on and four days off, followed by four nights on and four nights off, including weekends.
  • Each shift is 12 hours: day shifts run 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and night shifts run 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Workplace

  • The position is based at a data center in Hemel Hempstead and involves on-site security duties.
