Senior Design Manager (MEP)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP design packages from concept through detailed design and coordinate engineering teams, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, international standards, client specifications, and sustainability requirements; review and approve technical deliverables.
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines, set schedules and resources, and conduct design reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring; monitor design quality and support tendering, procurement, and contractor evaluation.
• Manage client relationships, resolve issues through handover, promote energy efficiency, and report progress, risks, and recommendations.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10–15 years of MEP design and engineering experience, including significant design management experience.
• Experience delivering large-scale hospitality or leisure projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of MEP design, building systems, codes, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical distribution, lighting, ELV, and building services.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM platforms, and related engineering tools; experience with planning, resources, budgets, and schedules.
• Familiarity with sustainable design, energy-efficient systems, and green building certifications.
• Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, PMP, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
