Design team and governance

• Lead and develop the design team by setting objectives, managing performance, and promoting a high-performing culture aligned with organizational values and safety requirements.
• Oversee design progress reporting, analytics, and risk management; identify issues and implement mitigation and value-engineering strategies.
• Direct technical design reviews for compliance with project requirements, design briefs, systems engineering, BIM, GIS, innovation, and applicable standards.
• Manage design from concept through construction documentation, coordinating consultants and aligning work with project objectives and ways of working.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet Safety in Design, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and design sign-off requirements.

Interfaces, cost, and delivery

• Lead internal and external interface coordination to manage effects on project schedules, budgets, quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Align design development with approved cost plans, business objectives, operational requirements, and change-management procedures; assess design changes.
• Oversee design and engineering Work Breakdown Structures and ensure deliverables support procurement, construction staging, project phasing, and execution.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• 12–15+ years of experience in multidisciplinary design management on large, complex developments.
• Proven experience as a senior technical lead managing multiple consultants and infrastructure packages.
• Strong experience in design governance, assurance, and complex interface management.
