Accountabilities
- Design and implement technology solutions for data and software engineering teams, aligned with the technical strategy and Pan SLC goals.
- Evaluate and implement integrations supporting SLC's data marketplace, data-as-a-product vision, and data discovery for business users.
- Partner with SunLife Enterprise teams on collaborative development and with program managers on backlogs and initiative reporting.
- Improve developer experience and time to market through DevOps, data governance, and platform engineering practices.
- Deliver business-critical use cases and self-service analytics with cross-functional teams.
- Translate analyst, business analyst, and stakeholder needs into technical data solutions.
- Monitor workflows, identify performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot data-related issues.
Experience and technical qualifications
- 8+ years in data-driven organizations, focused on end-to-end, large-scale initiatives.
- Deep technical understanding of Snowflake, Starburst Trino, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server (SSMS).
- Experience with Apache NiFi or similar workflow orchestration tools.
- Proficiency designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.
- Strong Python and SQL programming skills; good knowledge of AWS S3, EC2, EKS, and RDS.
- Strong Git, code review, and CI/CD practices.
- Functional asset management knowledge, including positions, transactions, pricing, valuation, and accounting.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
- Ability to communicate, negotiate, influence, manage competing priorities, make decisions, and lead change across stakeholders.
