Position purpose
The Senior Cost Control Engineer joins Project Control and Project Risk Management and is responsible for economic and financial control of complex, high-value projects.
The role manages project cost monitoring, variance analysis, forecast updates, and decision support for project and management teams.
Cost control responsibilities
- Set up, manage, and update the project cost control system in line with procedures, company standards, and contractual requirements.
- Define and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure and ensure proper project budget allocation.
- Analyze Original and Revised Control Budgets, highlighting deviations and critical areas.
- Monitor actual and committed costs, accruals, physical and economic progress, earned value, and value of work done.
- Prepare forecast data, including Estimate at Completion and Estimate to Completion.
- Identify budget and forecast deviations and propose corrective actions and mitigation scenarios.
- Support project targets for costs, revenues, cash flow, and invoicing.
- Contribute to change management, claim management, and cost impact analysis for contractual variations.
- Support risk and opportunity management with cost evaluations and scenario analysis.
- Prepare cost control, project status, cash flow, and management reports.
- Collaborate with AFC, Procurement, Contract Management, Planning, and other project functions.
- Promote cost-conscious practices and proactive economic performance and risk management.
Candidate profile
- Solid experience in cost control, project control, or a similar role in EPC, Oil and Gas, Energy, Engineering, Construction, or large industrial projects.
- Proven ability to manage complex budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, cash flow, and variance analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of project control, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, earned value, and reporting processes.

Develop Material Selection Diagrams, Corrosion Loop Diagrams, corrosion-control strategies, Integrity Operating Windows, and Corrosion Management Programs.
Support maintenance and inspection teams with RBI assessments, root cause and failure analysis, and Management of Change.
Ensure deliverables follow QA/QC protocols and ISO standards, execute engineering tasks using approved methods, and monitor HSE and quality procedures.
