Role overview

Main responsibilities

• Develop and govern standard cost and commercial reporting formats for PMCs.
• Maintain a database of insurance policies, guarantees, and warranties; coordinate compilation and validation of commercial data.
• Manage executive risk reporting and develop cost reports, commercial executive reports, and cashflows in Unifier.
• Review procurement guidelines for bills of quantities and tender documents and develop standards for PMCs.
• Prepare consolidated programme cost reports and collate annual budgets and monthly cashflow reports for client review.
• Prepare cost benchmarks, benchmark templates, elemental cost plans, and market-price and market-insight analyses.
• Support programme change control and prepare programme-wide cashflow reports, project cost reports, trend analysis, and change reporting.
• Review cost risks and opportunities and link cost and schedule structures, including earned value.
• Update the programme baseline budget and support the business-plan exercise.
• Provide portfolio-wide risk-management support and consolidate PMC risk registers for escalation and reporting.
• Assist the client with commercial strategy and direct contracts, risk, and support-service departments.
• Produce commercial reports throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quantity surveying.
• At least 15 years of post-graduation experience and prior experience as a Senior Commercial Manager.
• MRICS, CIOB, or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of commercial aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects, including urban developments, roads, bridges, and utilities, with significant procurement and contract-management experience.
• Experienced user of MS Office and understanding of project-management software.
• Experience with international contracting mechanisms, including FIDIC and NEC.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, commercial awareness, client focus, planning and organizing skills, accountability, and HSE awareness.
