About This Role
Role Objective
- To manage delivery of all responsibilities of the commercial team’s function within given time frame, budget and in compliance with set quality standards.
- To provide commercial support services to assist the Commercial Department in delivering its departmental objectives and core functions in accordance with law no. 1 (1997).
- To manage multiple portfolios of construction packages and consultant agreements value exceeding AED 1 billion with an appropriate level of complexity.
- To manage team under his/her purview and coordinate effort of staff to ensure delivery of projects/activities as assigned to him/her.
- Ensure implementation of DAEP strategy through the alignment of Unit and Individual objectives and measures to organization wide strategic objectives, enabling the organisation to achieve its vision.
- Ensure compliance to all Integrated Management System – IMS relevant components: quality, health and safety, security and environmental, information security, business continuity, IT service management, risk management and building information modelling policies, procedures, manuals and controls across DAEP to guarantee employee compliance, delivery of high-quality services effectively & efficiently. Also, ensure timely closure of the external and internal audit findings related assigned actions.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, information security, health and safety, security and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across DAEP to guarantee employee safety, security, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality services with minimum impact to the environment.
- Drive Innovation, creativity and new growth opportunities for the Organization by suggesting, ideating and supporting Innovation implementation and its enablers.
Role Responsibilities
- Carry out parts of the business plan for the Function in line with agreed priorities and objectives set with Director/Head of Function.
- Contribute to the formulation of the business plan (as required by the Director/Head of Function).
- Deliver work consistent with set work priorities, established goals, objectives and policies.
- Manage SCA, CA, SQS and QS teams, allocate and supervise workload and deliverables.
- Undertake assessments of direct reports.
- Manage all contract administration processes and all sub processes, including cash flow, risk management, cost planning, etc.
- Prepare portfolio or package related executive summary commercial reports.
- Develop and implement appropriate processes, procedures and tools to address contract administration issues as necessary.
- Prepare supplementary agreements (with legal inputs as required) to resolve complex contractual matters.
- Manage and resolve complex contract administration matters as arising from disputes with contractors/consultants.
- Review contract correspondence and draft appropriate response and/or co-ordinate responses with engineers and Head of Commercial.
- Prepare reports and continues support with commercial matters being negotiated by CEO, Directors, or Head of Commercials.
- Assure timeliness and quality of work of staff under his/her purview.
- Support the Director/Head of Section to manage the performance of the Function by suggesting employees’ objectives, reviewing objectives and leave management.
- Maintain relations with all key stakeholders and organisations / institutions internally and externally (as required by role)
- Ensure compliance to all Safety and Security procedures.
- Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Supervisor.
- Ensure prompt closure of external and internal audit findings related assigned actions.
- Demonstrate a shared commitment towards the overall objective of the Committee you are member of (if applicable), in order to ensure that all decisions are thoroughly evaluated and all actions are agreed upon and concluded.
- Ensure prompt reporting of any breach (i.e. Information security, code of conduct breach) as per DAEP procedures.
