The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer reports to the Manager, Business Intelligence, and supports strategic decisions and operational performance monitoring across the business.
The role develops analytical data assets, centralized semantic layers, and interactive BI solutions to enable trusted self-service analytics.

The Business Intelligence team builds core data models, governed semantic layers, and data pipelines for enterprise reporting and dashboards.
The team provides data support and governance standards so metrics remain accurate, consistent, and trusted.
Jobber provides technology for small home service businesses to quote, schedule, invoice, and collect customer payments.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable data models and governed semantic layers for accurate standardized reporting and analysis.
- Translate complex SQL queries into scalable and reusable models, with attention to pipeline performance and query optimization.
- Work with Analytics to model key business metrics for the semantic layer.
- Create and maintain enterprise reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain reliable data transformation and loading pipelines.
- Configure and manage the BI platform, including access, governance, performance, and security.
- Champion data literacy, governance, and adoption across the business.
Qualifications
- Extensive data architecture and dimensional modeling experience, including star or snowflake schemas, and experience or strong familiarity with semantic layers for self-service analytics.
- Expert-level SQL programming skills.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using dbt.
- Understanding or experience with governance practices, metric standardization, data quality enforcement, and access control.
- Advanced dashboard design skills using Tableau or an equivalent visualization tool.
- Solid understanding of complex relational data structures and modern cloud data platforms.
