Role overview

Own business logic, data quality, and product backlog for an enterprise Security Master that consolidates reference data from multiple financial vendors.

The Security Master is a source of truth for firm applications, including proposal, trade order management, portfolio management, and client reporting systems.

The role does not build technical data pipelines to downstream consumers; it ensures the accuracy of data used by critical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document business requirements, data mapping rules, and functional specifications.
  • Create JIRA user stories with acceptance criteria and participate in sprint planning and grooming.
  • Analyze, normalize, and reconcile vendor data covering equities, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, and alternatives.
  • Establish golden-copy rules, survivorship logic, and data quality metrics to detect and resolve anomalies.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and downstream product owners on data model alignment.
  • Lead UAT for enhancements and verify that data structure changes meet downstream needs.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or an IT-related field.
  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Product Owner in Wealth Management, Asset Management, or Capital Markets.
  • Deep knowledge of Security Reference Data structures, corporate actions, and ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, and ticker symbology.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for analysis, profiling, and complex database queries; advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Familiarity with security data impacts on proposal generation, order execution/trading, and portfolio management workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proven ability to resolve complex discrepancies across vendors.

Preferred skills

  • Working knowledge of Python, PySpark, Microsoft Azure, and Azure Synapse for cloud data analysis is a nice-to-have.
  • Vendor data examples include Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, and IDC.

Benefits and development

  • The posting describes a total rewards program with flexible benefits, competitive compensation, bonuses, commissions, and stock where applicable.
  • The employer cites coaching, development opportunities, collaborative work, challenging assignments, and opportunities for increasing responsibility.

Work details

  • The posting lists full-time employment and 37.5 work hours per week.
