Senior Business Analyst — CTRM Platform (Systems Design)

Role Overview

Business Architecture

• Model Trading, Finance, Logistics, and Risk processes as structured and decomposable process definitions.
• Define the business entity model and data dictionary, including relationships, identifiers, cardinality, and lifecycle ownership.
• Specify state models for commodity trade lifecycle objects and the events that trigger valid transitions.
• Maintain a business rules catalogue with conditions, decision tables, tolerances, thresholds, and owners.

Buildable Specifications

• Write functional specifications and acceptance criteria that engineers can implement without reinterpreting business intent.
• Translate operational workflows into validations, calculations, allocations, postings, and automated decisions.
• Specify integration contracts and data flows between the trading platform, finance systems, and external services.
• Work with architects and engineers through build and test to validate delivered behavior against the design.

Decision and Stakeholder Management

• Run design decisions to closure by framing options, presenting trade-offs and risks, securing decisions, and recording them.
• Maintain decision logs and registers of open items, assumptions, and change requests.
• Prioritize releases and sequence scope according to business value and technical dependency.
• Elicit requirements, present designs to senior stakeholders, and incorporate change-management controls into solutions.

Applied AI

• Design AI-enabled and automated commercial workflow steps such as document extraction, validation, drafting, and anomaly detection.
• Define clear boundaries for workflows where a human decision remains mandatory.

Required Experience

• Experience in a large technology, product, platform, or engineering organization with formal systems design practice.
• Experience in a top-tier management consultancy or equivalent professional services environment.
• Experience with physical commodity trading, energy markets, or CTRM systems.
• Fluency in both English and Russian is mandatory.
• Deep knowledge of the physical commodity trade lifecycle is required.
• Understanding of trade finance, accounting interfaces, and oil logistics in commodity trading is required.
• Ability to produce process models, data models, state diagrams, decision tables, and interface specifications.
• Comfort with engineering delivery cadences, precise terminology, versioned documentation, and commercial analysis.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with crude, refined products, or LNG flows is useful.
• Risk management, pricing and reference data, event-driven or microservices architecture, and event sourcing experience are useful.
• Experience as a CTRM implementation lead, business analyst, or power user is useful.
• Hands-on use of LLMs and automation tooling in commercial delivery is useful.
• Chartering or shipping sale-and-purchase exposure is useful.

Location and Work Arrangement

• The role is based in Dubai, with a remote alternative that requires regular travel to Dubai to work with the client's trading and operations team.
