Senior BIM Manager

Role overview

BIM strategy and project delivery

• Develops and maintains BIM standards, protocols, workflows, and execution plans and establishes requirements for consultants and project teams.
• Ensures compliance with company BIM standards, industry practices, and project-specific BIM Execution Plans; drives BIM adoption and digital transformation.
• Oversees BIM from concept design through construction and handover; reviews models for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and compliance.
• Manages model coordination and clash detection, and monitors BIM deliverables, milestones, and consultant performance.

Coordination, quality, and data

• Coordinates BIM with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers; serves as the primary BIM contact and leads coordination meetings.
• Provides technical guidance and establishes model quality control and auditing procedures.
• Ensures asset information is captured for facilities management and handover and manages CDE platforms and BIM document control.

Team leadership

• Mentors BIM Coordinators and Specialists, conducts training, promotes best practices, and supports recruitment and development of BIM resources.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Requires 20+ years in construction, consultancy, engineering, or real estate development.
• Requires BIM management experience overseeing large-scale mixed-use, residential, commercial, or hospitality developments.
• Developer/client-side experience is highly preferred.

Technical skills and knowledge

• Requires advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Requires strong knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM Execution Planning, plus experience with clash detection, model federation, and digital project delivery.
• Requires familiarity with facilities management integration and asset information requirements and an excellent understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination.

Qualifications and competencies

• BIM certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional or BuildingSMART are preferred.
• Requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
