About the client
The client is a fast-growing retail group serving markets across the Middle East, with a portfolio of fashion and lifestyle brands.
Bartender responsibilities
- Identify and meet guests' needs, provide bar service, make recommendations, and upsell where appropriate.
- Mix cocktails and other drinks to recipe; create beverage recipes suited to outlet or event themes and guest requests.
- Recommend wine and food pairings and beverages appropriate to guests' needs and selections.
- Support other bartenders and help deliver excellent service.
- Process, register, and settle drink transactions.
- Set up the bar and arrange displays of bottles, glasses, visuals, and merchandise.
- Complete opening, closing, and cleaning tasks using checklists.
- Coordinate with stewards to maintain clean, tidy bar areas and equipment and adequate glassware.
- Manage inventory, check expiration dates, and ensure garnishes are stored and recorded in designated areas.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and report beverage replenishment needs.
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly under group policy and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain positive team relationships; handle guest inquiries and escalate complaints that cannot be resolved immediately.
Candidate requirements
- Higher Secondary School certificate.
- Basic Food and Hygiene Training.
- 2–3 years of bartending experience in the international hospitality industry.
Standards and procedures
- Follow departmental policies, HACCP processes, food and beverage standard operating procedures, and applicable health, safety, and environment instructions.
- Deliver guest service in line with the outlet's service standards.
