Senior Backend Developer (Go)

Role overview

Accountabilities

• Design and maintain backend services focused on performance, reliability, maintainability, and security.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and other AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation and improve code quality.
• Turn business requirements into technical specifications and actionable tasks for developers and AI agents.
• Review human- and AI-authored pull requests for correctness, quality, and architectural fit.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and stakeholders on critical features and architecture.
• Promote TDD, automated test coverage, and testing integrated into CI/CD.
• Develop database schemas and data access patterns for relational, key-value, and time-series databases.
• Apply secure coding, address vulnerabilities, and meet relevant security and compliance needs.
• Optimize latency, throughput, scalability, and resource utilization; support reliable distributed systems at high data volumes.
• Mentor developers and share engineering practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of backend software development experience, including substantial architecture and technical design responsibility.
• Strong Go proficiency and experience building production-grade backend services; Rust experience is a plus.
• Experience optimizing high-throughput, low-latency systems and diagnosing performance bottlenecks.
• Knowledge of database schema design, query optimization, distributed systems, concurrency, scalability, and high-volume data processing.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding workflows.
• Practical experience with TDD, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of application security, OWASP guidance, secure coding, vulnerability mitigation, and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, containers, Kubernetes, and service meshes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; able to work independently and own delivery remotely.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
