IT Operations & Cybersecurity Specialist

Role Overview

Accountabilities

• Provision and manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and licences across Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
• Prepare and onboard Windows and macOS laptops into MDM platforms and coordinate remote device handovers.
• Handle first-line support requests including password resets, access issues, and routine troubleshooting.
• Conduct weekly maintenance checks covering patch status, backup logs, security alerts, and system health.
• Document technical fixes, standard operating procedures, and runbooks.
• Dedicate approximately 20% of time to CVE research, laptop hardening scripts, incident-response playbooks, and ISO 27001 checklist development.
• Identify opportunities to streamline IT workflows and improve service delivery across a distributed client environment.

Requirements

• At least two years of hands-on experience in IT operations, helpdesk support, systems administration, or a comparable technical role.
• Practical experience administering Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace including user and group management, security policies, permissions, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or equivalent platforms including device enrolment and configuration.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Strong written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage.
• Reliable internet connection, professional remote working environment, and ability to work independently across time zones.
• Proactive, organised, detail-oriented approach with strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn.
• Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator, or Google Workspace Administrator certifications are advantageous.
• Exposure to cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar standards is a plus.

Compensation

• Hourly compensation within the advertised range of €10–€18, with the original role description specifying a typical rate of €12–€16 per hour, paid in euros.
