Role overview

Site inspections and quality control

• Inspect work against approved project requirements, shop drawings, material submittals, specifications, method statements, and samples.
• Inspect relevant finishing activities, including blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, screeding, tiling, stonework, ceilings, partitions, painting, joinery, doors, glazing, and façade interfaces.
• Check setting-out, dimensions, levels, alignment, tolerances, surface preparation, installation quality, and protection of completed work.
• Identify defects, coordinate corrective measures, prevent recurring deficiencies, and monitor architectural interfaces with structural and MEP work.

Inspections and coordination

• Conduct and coordinate First-Time Inspections to establish acceptable workmanship standards before repetitive work proceeds.
• Confirm work is complete, accessible, and ready before requesting consultant inspections.
• Review WIRs and MIRs for accurate, complete supporting documents and coordinate inspections with consultants, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Track inspection comments, rejected work, and observations through satisfactory closure.

Materials and non-conformance

• Inspect delivered materials against approved submittals, specifications, samples, and supporting documents; verify storage, handling, installation, and protection.
• Identify and escalate non-compliant materials or installations through approved procedures; monitor method statements, ITPs, and quality checklists.
• Record observations, support NCR preparation and follow-up, coordinate root-cause reviews and corrective actions, and verify rectification and closure evidence.
• Highlight recurring defects and recommend practical improvements to inspection and construction processes.

Documentation and handover

• Maintain inspection records, quality checklists, material logs, photographs, and corrective-action trackers.
• Prepare reports on inspection status, outstanding defects, NCRs, and items requiring management attention.
• Support snagging, de-snagging, final inspections, and handover documentation; provide technical architectural QA/QC support and coordinate quality requirements with construction schedules.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in the GCC.
• Demonstrated architectural QA/QC, site inspection, interior fit-out, and finishing experience on building projects.
• Experience reviewing WIRs and MIRs, coordinating consultant inspections, and following NCRs and corrective actions through closure.
• Understand architectural materials, installation methods, workmanship standards, finishing tolerances, shop drawings, specifications, submittals, method statements, and samples.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of architectural works and interfaces with structural and MEP systems; able to identify defects and coordinate corrective action.
• Good documentation, reporting, communication, and coordination skills; able to read architectural drawings and technical documents.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and document management systems; good command of English.
• Arabic language skills are an advantage. UPDA registration is preferred.
