Hungerstation is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join its team in Riyadh.
The role calls for a significant individual contributor who also works effectively with the team.
Responsibilities
- Keep current with software development methodologies and deliver software solutions.
- Analyze product requirements, assess feasibility, estimate effort, and develop solutions with the Product Team.
- Build software components and document code for comprehension and future maintenance.
- Write unit, integration, UI, and snapshot tests; conduct functional and module testing.
- Investigate and resolve bugs, collaborate on code reviews, and provide review reports.
- Monitor product development, recommend improvements, and assist with user trials and acceptance testing.
Qualifications and experience
- 5+ years of software development experience and a strong foundation in design patterns and algorithms.
- Kotlin is preferred; a Java background is accepted.
- Deep expertise in native Android development and hands-on delivery of high-quality, testable code using modern mobile architectures.
- In-depth understanding of the Android lifecycle, including Activities and Fragments, and practical experience with Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong project prioritization, multitasking, and Git version-control skills; demonstrated impact on complex systems.
Technical skills
- Familiarity with MAD practices and toolkits including ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and multi-module Dagger2.
- Solid understanding of modular app architecture and CI/CD pipelines; ability to design and implement maintainable, scalable modules.
- Familiarity with AI tools, APIs, and machine-learning integration in mobile applications.
- Native iOS or Flutter experience is highly desirable; Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane, and Checkout.com SDK experience are nice-to-haves.
- Open-source contributions and technical publications are a strong plus.
