Senior Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis

Role objective

Budgeting and forecasting

• Assist with annual budgets and periodic forecasts based on historical performance, industry trends, and strategic initiatives.
• Gather input from department heads and senior management, validate assumptions, and consolidate forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and explain variances to help ensure financial goals are met.
• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.

Reporting and analysis

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and compare actual results against budgets and forecasts.
• Identify financial performance trends and drivers and communicate findings to management.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess potential outcomes, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support to senior management and business units.
• Provide financial insight for capital investment and cost optimization initiatives.
• Create standardized and ad hoc financial reports, dashboards, and analytics using FP&A systems.
• Perform data analysis and validation for financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making.

Business coordination and controls

• Work with departments to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and align financial plans with operational goals.
• Check purchase requisitions and procurement orders against approved departmental budgets, including accurate cost accounting code combinations.
• Ensure FP&A administrative tools, including task management and email ticket queue systems, work appropriately and delivery SLAs are met.
• Build stakeholder relationships to support communication and collaboration across projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; the qualification is listed with 3+ years.
• Degree in Finance, Financial Management, Economics, or Cost Accounting.
• Fluent in English.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Financial Analyst, ideally in FP&A or a related field.
• Financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with FP&A systems such as Oracle EPM, Hyperion, Planning Analytics, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or Alteryx, and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP, is desirable.
