Senior Accountant (Semi-Qualified CA / ACCA)

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complete accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and MIS reports.
• Perform month-end and year-end book closure activities within stipulated timelines.
• Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and construction-related financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, and ledger accounts.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support statutory audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT regulations, and company financial policies.
• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
• Review subcontractor payments, project expenditures, and cost allocations.
• Support management in strategic financial planning and decision-making.

Requirements

• Semi-Qualified CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to the construction industry.
• Proven experience in month-end and year-end book closing.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, job costing, and construction finance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and UAE VAT regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with construction, fit-out, contracting, or infrastructure companies in the UAE.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
